Arts for USH - Art Events
Arts for USH Art Events are the driving force behind the Arts for USH mission, offering both volunteers and participants the exciting opportunity to create art that inspires positive change. The Art Event teaches children, teenagers, young adults and adults the importance of empathy simply by drawing a picture.
Every person has a story about overcoming obstacles; an illness, a disability, emotional or environmental challenges. At our Art Events, we tell “our story about Usher Syndrome” by showing a video, displaying our portraits, and talking about what it feels like to have Usher Syndrome. We then encourage participants to share their personal feelings and stories by drawing. The artwork created is the heart and soul of Arts for USH and is empathy in action.
Art Events can be held anywhere: in schools, libraries, homes, corporations, etc. The parties can be small or large. We encourage anyone interested in our mission to consider hosting an Art Event. Arts for USH will make this easy for you by getting you registered and sending you an Arts for USH Art Box containing a manual with detailed instructions for holding an Art Event, as well as all the art supplies.
There are two important reasons to have an Art Event:
- Raise awareness for Usher Syndrome by creating empathy through art
- Raise funds for Usher Syndrome
